Communiqué re IMCA Rules Amalgamation Process

Issued November 27, 2008

Dear Fellow Racer:

This Communiqué provides an update on the significant progress that has been made in updating and amalgamating many M242 Class Rule sections since the last Communiqué issued September 25.

A revised Rule draft is available for review and commentary by competitors. For ease of comparison between the September 25 version and this one, the "text-markup" feature has been turned on so that changes are readily identifiable.

Please see a current draft of the Class Rules here.

A conversion table for the different measurement systems is available here.

Competitors may provide their comments to: craigs@m242.bc.ca

Please also see the file of the IMCA Constitution, as it contains some governing text re the Class Rules.

A link to the existing Rules can be found on the side bar.

The remaining major elements of the Rules yet to be finalized are:

  1. Section 3.1 and Appendix B – keel and rudder specifications

  2. Section 3.7.2.2 & 3.7.3 – positioning of additional fixed items that are included in the boat weight, and positioning of corrector weights

Further communiqués will be issued as each major Rule set is finalized.

The next IMCA meeting will be on December 9, 2008.

Best regards,

Your IMCA Delegates:

Yumio Dornberg, Don Martin, Denise & Mike George, Ken Holland, Craig Strand, Michael Clements
